For the first game of the PBA PLDT My DSL Cup Semifinals, the Rain or Shine remains undefeated for over a month now. After winning against the Petron Blaze the ROS team will try to follow-up a second win this Wednesday at the MOA Arena in Pasay.
Ryan Araña, Alex Nuylesand Gabe Norwood and Paul Lee took turns in scoring for the team. With the absence of its big man, JR Quiñahan, the team beats Petron with speed and wise strategies leading them to a score of 103-95.
The Elasto-Painters still need to win four games against Petron Blaze in order to move on to the final round. But this team is quite relax because of their twice-to-beat advantage. On the other hand, San Mig Coffee Mixers won against Brgy. Ginebra giving them a 1-0 in team standings.

The De La Salle University of Manila remains undefeated after winning the highly-anticipated game against its rival, The Ateneo De Manila University. They ended the match with a three-straight-set win and a final score of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-16. This win over Ateneo made them stay on top with a 6-0 in team standing for this season’s first round.
This seemed a very close fight at the beginning of the match as Marge Tejada and Alyssa Valdez teamed up in earning points for the team that gave them a 4-point lead against La Salle. But the captain of the other team, Abigail Maraᾗo and one of its top scorers, Mika Reyes started to spike hard and earn points and continued the momentum through the end of the game.
This game last Sunday, January 12, 2014, is the Lady Spikers’ 22nd consecutive win since season 75th while The Ateneo Lady Eagles dropped to 5-2 in team standings with their loss from The National University and The De La Salle University placing them on the third spot behind these two other universities.
